Amazon Expedition Cruises by M\/Y Tucano<\/b><\/u><\/a><\/p>\n\u2022\tThis trip is highly over-priced – one can do a very similar tour in the Gangetic Delta for 1\/10th the price and come out feeling equally good – but that’s the Ganges and not the Amazon. I have done it 4 times the overall feel is almost 80% of this trip – something a German co-tourist once mentioned to me while we were on the cruise in the Ganges. It is perfect for American and European tourists who do not have as much exposure to tourism in my part of the world
\n\u2022\tTucano is average – nothing special – the boat requires frequent fumigation – I was greeted by Cockroaches in the toilet everyday. Food was just about sufficient – nothing special – for the price we paid
\n\u2022\tSouza and Edy were excellent – their sincerity, knowledge and commitment to their profession is commendable. The side trips by boats into the jungle and the walk were made very interesting by them. Rest of the Crew was not very interactive, polite, caring and professional
\n\u2022\tThe visit to the local village was very disappointing for me – if I drive out of any Indian Metro for 10 to 20 kms – I will see what was shown to me – the idea should be to show tribes which are more indigenous – and if that’s not possible or they do not exist, that must be highlighted in your advertisements – stating: ‘a modern tribal village’. I found this a bit misleading
\n\u2022\tThe manner in which the tipping of the crew was handled by Souza on the last day was unanimously disliked by all of us on board(I have marked Jay and Robert on the mail and it may be cross-checked)<\/p>\n
Overall, I am VERY GLAD that I made this trip – till u don’t see it – the learning remains incomplete and one is still quenching for the experience.<\/p>\n
