Iberostar Grand Amazon

Luciana:

I did not get a link to a survey, only to the blog. We did submit the survey on the ship Iberostar Grand Amazon.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed the excursions, especially Piranha fishing. The guide made feeding the fish a fun experience. The visits to the Amazonian homes was also interesting and a pleasure, especially the anaconda and the sloth; the only thing missing was a monkey.

We had good service, in general, but meal service was too slow to bring coffee and other beverages to the table. The Buffet service was a great disappointment, and I know that a buffet is very had to keep the product fresh and appealing. You have some work to do. When we were on the Sonnesta St. George (a Nile River boat), we could order from a limited menu. At least we had a selection for dinner; there was a buffet for lunch and breakfast–which could be customized with omelets. I was a little disappointed when we clearly informed your company that we were celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary. When we did the Nile on our 25th , we were presented with a small cake, plus a serenade from the servers. We got a bottle of champaign, but no note, so we don’t know if that was because we were in the Royal Suite, or because of our anniversary.
> I talked to the Iberostar staff and they said they put one sparkling wine, fruits and chocolates in your suite is for the anniversary!

The choice of liquor was good, but the number of bartenders should be adjusted to compensate for the time of day. When we returned from our broken boat, there was no bartender to greet us, and give us a libation after our ordeal.

The “Royal” suite, while providing extra space needed to have a coffee table in front of the sofa. The bathroom door needed to have some device to keep it open. There should be DVD Players and a library of films to choose from–for all rooms. Watching “classic” movies for 24 hours is a bit much. Since there is limited time that most people are “on the boat,” it should be reasonably easy to put on more movies. If the ship receives satellite TV, there should be a news channel, as well as more frequent changes of the movies.

The 2nd deck hallway was musty smelling. We did not go into any other hallways, so I cannot say if it was limited to our hall way.

When I made a massage appointment, I was not informed that it was a separate “company,” so I was embarrassed when I had to be called and told that I needed to pay the attendant. Being told when I made the appointment would have been the correct way to handle it. It would normally be charged to my room and be settled between the ship and the attendant.

The “talent show” was more a view into Brazilian dancing than a true show of TALENT.

I don’t think these points should be on your blog, because you can address them and improve the adventure.
