We had a wonderful stay at Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge. It was everything we had hoped for. The series of activities were informative and thoroughly enjoyable and the setting and surroundings are sensational. The Archipeligo is remarkable and one special recommendation we would make is that one direction of the journey should be done by seaplane – we did our return journey. The view is great. We were surprised how little troubled we were by mosquitoes ( or indeed other nasty beasts) even when swimming with the Pirhanas and walking in the forest where I guide proved that there was a tarantula lurking in almost every hole in the ground! The accommodation is very comfortable, the food good and the pool and games rooms ideal places to recover from the daily adventures ( although we preferred swimming in the river ( with those pirhanasa!).
The St Paul hotel was ok – nothing more – but we were only staying for about 6 hours (2 to 8am) and it was fine for this purpose.
