Park Suites Hotel / Mamirauá – Uacari Lodge / Acajatuba Lodge

Hi Luciana,

The trip was great. Thanks very much for your help in organizing, especially Luciana.

Comments:
I didn’t have a lot of time in Manaus but I was able to see a little of the city and enjoyed strolling through the neighborhood around the theater, although it was Sunday so most everything was closed.

I enjoyed my three nights at the Tropical Business. It was a good change of pace from the lodgings where I had been staying. I felt like I was at a hotel in the States. It had a pool with a great view, and free internet service.

I was happy with the Acajatuba Lodge for the two nights I spent there. The guide was knowledgeable and the outings were enjoyable. The accommodations, while rustic, were perfectly fine.

However, Mamirauá was by far the highlight of the trip. It was really beautiful there around the lakes and rivers, with lots of wildlife to see, particularly birds, monkeys, and dolphins (as well as some sloths, snakes, spiders, bats, and a few small rodents). The night tour through the flooded forest was something really special. I really loved everything about my stay there, the passeios, the food, and especially the guides, who were friendly and great at spotting creatures, including a uakari monkey, which is hard to see at this time of year. It’s too bad more people don’t go there (I was the only one at the lodge, as three people canceled at the last minute; the people at Mamiraua were happy I booked through you because then they were certain that I would show up).

Once again, thanks for all your help!

Michael
