Aldeia dos Lagos

Dear Luciana,

I am back again in Switzerland where the automn season is couloring the leaves of our woods. It is cold and in the morning a thick fog covers the sun.

I enjoyed my trip to the Amazona very much (Aldeia dos Lagos). The nature ist much more beautiful than I expected, so different from what I knowed. The English speaking guide, Valberto Joshua Lacruz, is very kind and competent. He teached me a lot, showed me plants an animals, answered all my questions. I can highly recommend him – also our boatdriver, Armando.

There are just three critical points I would like to mention for improving the quality of the community tourism project:
– punctionality an security of transport (the delay at the first day and the way back in a very old car)
– the bathroom would need a renovation beyond the new color on the walls
– diner and supper were good, the quality of the breakfast however differed from day to day

In the information from Viverde about aldeia dos lagos it should get clear, that the pousada is only a ten minutes walk from the small city Silves. At my arrival I was first disappointed, because I was expecting a lodge far from the civilation. Finally it was all right, even sometimes dico music was overtuning the sounds of the rainforest. So I saw, how people are living in an Amazon city, Vincente took me at school and in discussions with him I get informations about the situation of the young people, in wich I am – as a teacher – very interested.

I will keep all the marvellous recollections in my heart and hope to come back once again in the rainforest.

I wish you all the best. With kind regards from Switzerland to Manaus.

Marian
