Anavilhanas Lodge

We returned home Thursday after spending May 15 – 19 at the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge.
The visit met or exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff at the lodge was very accommodating and went out of their way to please the guests. The food and food service were excellent, and every buffet offered a great deal of variety. One could “eat Brazilian,” or opt for more Americanized versions of beef, pork, chicken, and pasta. The numerous fish species were all quite good. The soft drinks and alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced, and the price was the same at the bar, in the boat, or in the room mini-bars. This is an area where we feel that some lodges take advantage of their guests.
The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and both were fluent in English. They handled questions well. Tipping was not really pushed at all, but both guides were clearly appreciative when we gave them some money upon departure. The transfers from our hotel and back to the airport were as advertised and on time.
Everything with Viverde went well, and we were pleased to receive the reduced rate you offered. The credit card prepayment went smoothly. We would certainly recommend Viverde and Anavilhanas Lodge to our friends.
