Hello Luciana- We had a great time on our trip. First, the Hotel do Largo was nice and clean. It was in a good location for exploring the downtown area. The breakfast was fine, with eggs, fruit, and variety of bread and cake. The room was small but clean. However,there were a few glitches- a broken door knob, a bathroom light fixture that fell out of the ceiling, and an air conditioner that dripped like the Chinese water torture. All of these problems were attributed to “the rain”. After the light incident we were moved to another room. The staff was friendly.
On to Amazon Tupana Lodge – wow, what an adventure. Our guide, Fabio Silva, was excellent. He knew about a wide variety of topics, and a adapted our tour to our specific interests. He was friendly and helpful, and above all, knowledgeable. The lodge, which takes quite a journey to reach, was beautiful. The staff of the lodge was very accomodating, especially our boat driver- Nicodemos. He personally took my son and husband on extra fishing trips that were very fun. We ejoyed the brazilian home cooked meals. Our only complaint is that the electricity is only available part of the time, which makes charging electronics a little tricky, and sleeping a little difficult without the fan. But, for an amazing experience in the heart of the jungle it was perfect. We only wish we could have stayed a few days longer, lounging on the veranda with Conchita, the naughty and entertaining resident monkey!
