Juma Lodge / Hotel Plaza

Oi Luciana

We had such a great time in the Amazon and at Juma Lodge. The atmosphere was relaxed with just the right amount of activities that were quite flexible. We visited a village and a local house, mingled with monkeys, were introduced to new fruits and tasted them, learned about medicinal qualities of trees and plants and got to shoot indian blow pipes and bows and arrows. We did a lot of little boat trips, spotted river dolphins, walked in the tranquil rain forest, swung in hammocks while a BBQ of fish we just caught was being prepared for us and swam in the Juma river.
The accommodation was lovely, peaceful and relaxed, simple and clean. We overlooked the river and had our own hammock for chilling out in. Tame monkeys and parrots were hanging about for those who wanted to meet them and feed them fruits.
There is also a tame tapir called Isabella who loves the rain and does a rain dance when it begins to pour.
My Mum had a sore foot so did not walk so much, but the guides were very accommodating and made sure she was guided back to the boat safely and even made her a rain shelter out of banana palms for her to read under while they awaited our return.
We only had half a day and one night of rain and the rest was lovely and sunny.

The Plaza was a very average hotel and we didn´t feel so comfortble staying there, but it was ok. Wouldn´t recommed it to anyone.

Thanks for arranging this for us Luciana it was a brilliant trip!

Many thanks
