I am at last somewhere in Medellin that I can download photos and so include a few photos of my trip to Uacari and I hope they are suitable for your website. I may have to send a second email with a couple of photos because of size.
Uacari lodge writeup – hope this is ok
Uacari lodge is in a picturesque and serene location surrounded by the Amazon jungle and waterways. My cabin was wonderful and I had a veranda and hammock where I enjoyed chilling out after lunch. I read my book or just liked watching and listening to the wildlife from splashing pirarucu and dophins to the sounds of the birds and the howler monkeys, the latter proving very effective for the real atmosphere of the Amazon jungle. Howler monkeys growl as if they are huge monstrous creatures but are quite harmless. There were five tourists and this meant a very personal and special experience for the few days that I spent there. Guides and staff are very knowledgeable, approachable and helpful. We did several trips including walks through the jungle, a canoe trip, community visit and a boat trip on the lake which was my favourite part of the weekend. We saw lots of pink dophins and enjoyed a beautiful sunset followed by black cayman spotting coming home by boat at night. It was a beautiful evening on the lake and I felt like I was in a painting the scenery was so stunning it took my breath away, my photos do not do it justice. On my last morning I went Piranha fishing and that was really quite fun and when I laughed the most. The food was good and I loved the juices and especially the desert of brazil nuts (cannot be missed), though in such remote locations I appreciate it is difficult to cater for vegetarians. I had really a magical weekend and would highly recommend Uacari Lodge to everyone and I would further recommend booking through Viverde, Luciana in particular who is informed, efficient and most helpful.
Manaus
Luciana I just spent one day in Manaus and visited teh Opera house on an English tour which was really good and very interesting but other than that I didnt really experience anything to write about, sorry.
