Tropical Hotel / Meeting of the waters / Anavilhanas Lodge

Dear Luciana,

here we are. Sorry for the delay.

On the day we stayed in Manaus we went to the meeting of the rivers tour, witch I’m afraid proved to be too long a tour: we left in the morning and were back at Tropical Hotel around 17 in the afternoon, on a ship with 25-30 people. I would have preferred to go to were the rivers meet on a little boat with less people and maybe the possibility of touching the water and feel the differences, for instance, instead of having a guide talking non stop in a microphone plus the noise of the boat. But ok, we were glad we did it anyhow.

Tropical Ecoresort in Manaus disappointed us a little: the hotel seems a bit shabby or if maybe that’s only an ancient and colonial athmosphere we were not prepared for. The room was old and dark. Maybe, if we had got a newly restored room our first impression would be better. Also the staff didn’t seem very much cooperative and friendly. But as a matter of facts we stayed there only two nights.

Than Anavilhanas Lodge. We understood that it was about to be a completely different experience as soon as we saw Robert, one of its guides, who met us at Topical hotel in order to drive us at the lodge: a friendly welcoming person with a good english who explained us the travel we were about to do. The lodge immediately fulfilled our expectations: simple but tasteful and confortable. We loved all the activities (I couldn’t tell you witch one I preferred: everyday was better than the previous one) and the nice and efficient staff. We spent five wonderful days there.

Overall experience: very good, with something a little different we would have done in Manaus.
Your cooperation and support was excellent, and we thank you for that.

We’d like to come back to Amazonas, maybe in a different season: I’ve been told it looks so different. Next time maybe also with enough time to see a concert in Manaus Opera and meeting you.

Hope to hearing from you,

Manuela Airoldi
