Amazon Riverside

First let me say Alex was an excellent guide, so please pass that on to him. The lodge Amazon Riverside had some problems I must mention. The food was always cold, even when we ate immediately when the meal was served. For 365.00 US dollars for one night I would expect spectacular food, and hot. Secondly, when I arrived they handed me some juice and said i could have whatever i’d like. Upon check out they announce I owe 10.00 R for the two juices i had. I was shocked as no one mentioned this. In fact, no one at the lodge ever said anything to me, even in Portuguese, other than good day. Lastly, the brochure and website show the giant water lillies so I assumed that would be part of the three boat trips included. I found out it was not and was an extra 50 R which I ended up paying.

So several problems with the lodge Amazon Riverside.

Good afternoon!
I read the Feed back bellow and talking to the guide and the lodge manager, Mario (Ex-Jungle Palace):.

1. Referring to the Meals: We do not have a buffet line with heater. The meals are served hot but really turn “cold” after some time. We are trying to offer the maximum of comfort, but because of the location in middle of the forest, we have this limitation. I am not justifying the buffet system, but we had not have received any complain up to this moment regarding that because the guests knows where they are. One day we want to have an equipments to keep the meals hot.

2. Vitoria Regia(Water lilies): All is very known, the Water Lilly observation is something we can not assure. Today, they are in a lake, but next week, the water comes and takes them to out of the lake. She wanted to see agreeing to pay the extra for fuel to go to the other side of the river (Round trip is 10 Km). It was an extra expense she agreed to pay and after that complaining about that is not fair.

3. Referring to the drinks : Welcome drink is courtesy. Other drinks are charged. The guide explained clearly to her, but even though she took two soft drinks (R$ 3,00 each) and 01 juice (R$4,00), totalizing R$10,00. Nothing more than that.

Always we try to well attend our guests, with all respect, but this time I am felling she did not understood (or felt) our hospitality and did also not respect our team.
According to the Alex guide, she was always to strict with bad faith, even though, we always tried to make her happy, but she did not want to understand.
