Pete and I had such a wonderful experience at Juma Lodge. Even the ride there and back was so much fun. To feed a parrot guava juice and cradle a monkey in your arms is so much better than anything I’m doing now in Manhattan!! The food was wonderful, and everyone at the lodge, especially our guide, was friendly, gracious and full of education for us. We learned so much about the animals, the habitat, and even some Brazilian history. Pete is still amazed that rubbing small ants on your skin can be used as a bug repellent. The visit to the head of the tribe’s home was especially enjoyable and the citrus honey he produces should be on the market in America! I am now in love the tree sloth, and we’ve decided that that is going to be our pet name for our first child. (just kidding)
I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to experience an adventure in a comfortable and active setting!
