Amazon Tupana / Clipper Premium / Tropical Hotel

We were very pleased with the trip. Everything worked fine.
We have to admit that we were a little worried because we had to pay completely in advance, especially we were a bit irritated because one invoice was not calculated correctly.
But again we are very pleased that everything worked perfectly. We got exactly what we booked. Thank you.
We definitely will recommend you as a trustworthy travel agency.

We did not bring our smartphone to Brazil. Therefore we did not get the information that the departure to Amazon Tupana Lodge was preponed to 7:00 am.
A message given to the reception of Tropical Hotel could have been helpful (although I have doubts that the reception would have managed to pass the information to us (please see below)).

We liked the river cruise on the Amazon Clipper Premium very much.
Nearly everything was perfect.
We liked the program of the tour. We liked the food. The guides were very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Only few minor comments:
1. the program was altered sometimes. We appreciated that because it is good to change the program when the actual situation changes.
But sometimes it was not clear what was going to happen next. A regular update of the blackboard would have been helpful.
2. we visited 2 native villages and a place where manioc processing was shown. We think that the visit of 1 village would be sufficient.
3. the shower in our cabin did not have warm water and the air conditioning was very loud.
We feel that on Clipper Premium such things should work a little better.

We were very pleased with the Tupana Lodge.
We liked that it was a small sized lodge. We liked the bungalow. It was simple but very good.
The food was good although sometimes some dishes were a little short (perhaps too little discipline of the people being there).
We liked the pontoon which could be used for swimming and the canoe for paddling.
We were very pleased with the program, especially with the jungle walk. We did not visit the native family but had a swim instead.
The guide was good although we would have liked to get still more information.
We did not like Tropical Manaus so much. It does not deserve 5 stars.
On the 1st day we had lunch and wanted to have only a soup for dinner. We went to the restaurant but the restaurant only offered buffet.
We asked if we could be served just a soup. It was impossible. We complained.
We were told that it was only possible to order a soup with the room service and eat in the room.
We went to reception. The man at the reception tried to compromise and offered us to get served at the lobby bar by the room service.
But someone denied that too. We ended up in eating our soup in our room at the desk sitting on one chair.
Ridiculous! This is not 5 star!
When we came back from the river cruise the reception claimed that no room was free. I personally doubt that the huge hotel was completely booked.
They made us wait. When we tried at 12:30 to get a room they gave us one. After we had already unpacked our luggage we detected that the room did not have a safe and therefore was not acceptable for us.
We had to move again which took quite a time. The consequence was that we hardly could use our day in Manaus.
On the day we left for the river cruise my wife was not feeling very well. She stayed in bed right until our departure.
But it was very hard to organize something to eat and drink for her for breakfast (camomile tea and toasted bread) as the staff is not very flexible and often does not speak English.
Some people at the reception were very little informed.
When I inquired in the evening before the river cruise started the female at reception did not know that each Wednesday the river cruise starts from the lobby.
Or she did not understand my English. I think the staff definitely needs additional training.
