Amazonat Lodge

Dear Luciana,

I must admit that I was disappointed by Amazonat Jungle Lodge. The owner seemed completely uninterested in his guests and was never around. The premises seemed a bit abandoned. The library was shut down, the pool was filthy and unused, no internet service was available, phone lines were also out of operation. The guides made an effort to be nice but the trips were not really exciting or very informative. Transport to pick us up before and after trips ran into snags too many times and my last morning I was notified at the very last minute that there was no car to return me to Manaus on schedule and I had to spend two hours waiting and missed my only chance to visit the Opera House as a result. The worst thing of all for me was the food situation. I have never purchased an all inclusive package in which so little food was provided. It seemed like food was rationed, as if we were in prison or something! The food quality was mediocre, and never plentiful. There was no food available in between meals, only overpriced drinks. I cannot understand why you told me this was a good trip from a small child. There were no children around and my son was sad and bored much of the time.

I will not recommend this trip to friends – I really feel ripped off.
