Mamirauá – Pousada Uacari

Luciana,

Thanks so much for helping us organise such a great trip! Our four days in the remote Mamirauá reserve were a fantastic experience, and we both came away having seen lots of spectacular sights and creatures, and learned a great deal about the Amazon and it’s native wildlife.

My only suggestion which could improve the trip was that there is a huge amount of wildlife just hanging around the lodge in the evenings, and it would have been great to have someone show us more of the various fauna in the evening, we saw all sorts of frogs lizards, spiders and fish within a few metres of our room, and it would have been great to have someone help us find more. The canoe trips were great for spotting Monkeys, but there is so much else in the jungle that it would have really improved our trip to have someone show us. I don’t think it would need to involve travelling away from the lodge at all!

The TRIP flight was easy, and then we took the fast boat back from Tefe to Manaus, which was also a surprisingly enjoyable part of the holiday and helps give an understanding of just how huge the jungle is, and how remote Mamirauá is. I can highly recommend the boat transport option as a part of the trip.

I have attached a few photos in low resolution which you are more than welcome to use on your website if you wish. They were all taken from our trip to the reserve, below a brief description of each image;
